The Summoning of Time

Mary and Mary-the mother and the Magdalene-feature in the second and second-last chapters of John's gospel. In the episodes involving them, quotes from one of Scripture's most famous sagas appear: the story of Joseph of the coat-of-many-colours. This parallelism shows Jesus as the true bearer of Joseph's title, the 'Saviour of the World'. Jesus fulfills many prophecies in His interaction with the women and proves Himself not just the redeemer of Time, but its Lord.
