Julia Weenink (2003) is a young adult living in the Netherlands. After her first book "Alive", she wanted to continue her mission to break the taboos surrounding mental health issues. Therefore, Julia started to explore the daily thoughts most people can resonate with, creating her second book "Survive". As a teenager, Julia struggled with depression and an eating disorder. Nowadays, she uses poetry as a form of therapy, translating emotions, struggles, and thoughts into words. Recognizing yourself in someone else's words can sometimes make you feel seen. Thus, Julia uses writing not only to express herself, but she also tries to create an open discussion about mental health problems, especially among young adults.
