Scottish Society, 1500–1800

Scottish social history has made considerable advances in recent years as scholars have begun to ask new and exciting questions about the lives of the ordinary people of Scotland in the centuries before the Industrial Revolution. This volume surveys these developments and presents the results of new, previously unpublished research.
