Discovering the Leader Within

Today's leadership industry offers hundreds of books and resources on developing leadership skills, mostly designed for adults to advance in their workplaces. The call for leadership is loud, yet by the time adults start learning leadership skills, it may be too late. The time to help develop our future leaders is today with our youth. Yet, so few resources exist. And those that do are often geared toward adults who want to teach young people about leadership rather than toward youth themselves. The purpose of this book is to help young people develop skills and competencies necessary for effective self-leadership. As a DIY generation that enjoys learning on their own, an interactive book that guides youth through their own learning and development where they can read, complete activities, and reflect on their lives when it comes to leadership puts the learning into the hands of the learners to self-pace and reflect on their own. By including reflection and application questions, self-assessments, case scenarios, and other activities, young people can make meaning of the content in a personal way.
